Trained in architecture and painting, her practice is influenced by the immigrant experience and years of world traveling which hone her eye to nuances in nature, architecture, culture, and the interconnectedness of our existence. Working in acrylics, Reihan’s paintings distill complex concepts into simple, impactful forms which blend representation and abstraction. Her bold and compelling use of color reflects the depth of her emotions and harkens to her Iranian heritage and insistence on maintaining an imaginative, child-like wonder.

Celebrating girlhood and womanhood, and influenced by a rich spiritual framework, Reihan’s practice promotes community. Her process, which builds layers and layers of paint, achieves a dynamic surface texture that reflects the charged spiritual dimension and meditative state of the artist.
